Bad news that #Assange has lost his case #HumanRights The appeal was on the narrow issue related to what is the "judicial authority" that is able to issue a European arrest warrant. His side said it must be someone impartial, such as a judge or a court...

…as in:

“1. The issuing judicial authority shall be the judicial authority of the ossuing Member State which is competent to issue a European arrest warrant by virtue of the law of that State.”

The other side said that any participant in the judicial process is enough. That is, the prosecutor can legally issue such a warrant. This is bad news as the prosecutor is not independent but one side to a litigation. If I am going to be extradited, I would like it to be based on an independent agent deciding on the facts and on the possibility of a valid case, not on the interpretation of a prosecutor who has a position before making the case for extradition.
